Nelson Announces Grants for Projects in 57th District

HARRISBURG – Rep. Eric Nelson (R-Westmoreland) is pleased to announce he helped secure more than $3.5 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for projects in the 57th Legislative District.

“I’m thankful for the partnership with Sen. Kim Ward and her commitment to ensuring our area receives the attention it deserves,” Nelson said. “These projects are major wins for our region. Each one will enhance our communities, assist our nonprofits and bolster key infrastructure. These grants are essential investments that deliver positive, community wide benefits.”

Those receiving LSA funding are:

• Adamsburg Borough – $335,894 to reconstruct the borough building parking lot and construct a new cul-de-sac at the former Route 30 off-ramp.

• Central Westmoreland Habitat for Humanity – $52,500 to purchase a truck

• Mutual Aid Ambulance Service – $632,000 to purchase medical equipment

• City of Greensburg – $600,000 to replace paving equipment.

• Hempfield Township – $414,187 to construct a new sewer interceptor line to support a future fire department for an underserviced area.

• New Stanton Borough – $58,483 to renovate the concession stand and fence in a dog area in New Stanton Park.

• New Stanton Borough – $94,364 to add lighting to the basketball and pickleball courts at New Stanton Park.

• South Greensburg Borough – $600,000 for park and playground improvements at Huff Avenue Park.

• Southwest Greensburg Borough – $125,885 to purchase a new work truck with plow upfitting.

• Southwest Greensburg Borough – $400,000 to stabilize eroding soil and renovate its baseball field at Red Devil’s Park.

• Feeding the Spirit – $30,500 to assist with renovation of Greensburg facility to create a safe, functional and inclusive community access point for food and housing support services.

• Youngwood Borough – $183,540 to purchase a boom mower.
